Director of Admissions & Advancement, Full-time, 12 months, Exempt (salaried)
Barnesville School of Arts and Sciences (PK3 - Grade 8) is seeking a dynamic professional to join its staff as Admissions & Advancement Director. Under the direction of the Head of School, the Director will play a vital role in increasing overall admissions, as well as solicitation and cultivation of annual giving and School fundraising events.
Essential Job Functions:
Meet enrollment goals for the assigned target recruitment area.
Guide prospective students and their families through the admissions process, from inquiry to applicant, to enroll.
Develop, plan, and execute outreach events that will bring new families to campus.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the recruitment and marketing plan with the purpose of promoting Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences visibility and general recruitment efforts.
Assist in the development, maintenance, and execution of the department’s communication plan to prospective and admitted students.
Evaluate and execute admission decisions on applicant files in coordination with the admissions committee.
Plan the overall advancement program in keeping with school needs, the Strategic Plan, and budget objectives.
Ensure effective work practices in financial accounting and reconciliation, database management, gift recording, donor acknowledgement and stewardship.
Maintain records on current and prospective donors.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Characteristics: The ideal candidate will possess interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; an understanding of current tools and practices utilized in Admissions, coupled with the ability to innovate over time; the ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive circumstances; and maintain professionalism and a courteous attitude when handling parents, colleagues, alumni, students, and any other patrons.
Knowledge and Skill Set Requirements: Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and proficiency with Google Suite. Three years of admissions experience is preferable and familiarity with Blackbaud software is highly desirable. Ideal candidates will be thoughtful and professional communicators skilled in fostering partnerships with adults and children.

Physical Requirements: Daily desk work including computer time; mobility around a campus with uneven pavement and managing stairs as part of daily routines; standing, bending and squatting as required to participate in classroom/office activities; shifting furniture as needed, lift/carry boxes up to 15 pounds; the ability to maneuver as necessary within a classroom/office setting; frequent walking inside and outside as part of general job duties and responding to students and/or incidents.
